The photography students had a BEAUTIFUL day to photograph at the IMA. While we wait for them to download their images, I thought I will post a few of my pictures from our field trip. Have a wonderful Fall Break!

Field Trip

The Photography class will be taking a field trip to photograph on the IMA grounds. This is a great opportunity to explore the newly opened 100 Acres park, as well as the Lilly House gardens. Let's hope we have a beautiful fall day!!! Check back after the 26th for student photos.

ALL Things Books...

The photography students are working on a project for the LMC. The LMC received a grant to purchase frames to hang student art reflecting the theme around Books. The students reviewed the work of Sean Kernan and Abelardo Morell for inspiration. Here's a quick sample of student work in progress.

Alphabet Project

The digital photography class just finished the Alphabet project. Here's a few examples...gReAt job!!!

Ceramics

The ceramic students are working on their first project, a face cup. They are using the handbuilding technique called pinching, that involves squeezing the clay, usually between fingers and thumbs. After the cups are glazed and fired, we will have a tea party using our cups. This trimester, one of my goals is to work on the projects along with the students. Here's my cup so far.

Clean Slate

Another school year has ended. I can't believe I've been teaching high school aRt for 9 years! This year we had to remove all of our bulletin boards for summer cleaning. I'm looking forward to designing all new bulletin boards for next year... Here's the classroom on the last day of school.
